Suspect in Troy shooting arrested

Police have charged a Troy woman with second-degree assault in connection with a shooting on Rose Circle Tuesday afternoon.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 4:13 p.m. Tuesday and found a 33-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police say Brittany Marchell Woods, 31, left the crime scene in a red Dodge Challenger prior to their arrival.
“Officer’s quickly located the vehicle and made a traffic stop in the 600 block of Folmar Street,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “Woods was taken into custody at 4:20 pm.”
Woods has been booked into the Pike County Jail on $15,000 bond. Second-degree assault is a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The victim was treated on scene by personnel from the Troy Fire Department and Haynes
Ambulance. The victim was then transported to Troy Regional Medical Center by Haynes Ambulance where he was treated and released. His injuries were not life-threatening.
