Patriots rout Fort Dale

Six different Patriots reached the endzone in Pike Liberal Art’s 49-0 win over rival Fort Dale on Friday night.
The win for the Patriots brings their overall record on the year to 8-0. They also remain unbeaten in region play at 3-0.
Running back Chip Faircloth got the Patriots on the board early on Friday night when he rushed his way in for an 11-yard touchdown to put Pike up 7-0 with 9:28 remaining in the opening quarter.
More known for his running capability, quarterback Jade Sikes proved he could score with his arm when he connected with Cody Hollis on a 28-yard touchdown pass to put Pike up 14-0 after a Scott Taylor Renfroe extra point. It was Hollis’ first game back after he sat out the last two with a hurt shoulder.
Three minutes later, junior Davis Allen took a handoff four yards for a touchdown and the Patriots had a commanding 21-0 lead not even eight minutes into the game.
The Patriots closed out the first half with two more touchdowns to go up 35-0 heading into the locker room.
Jaquavian “Scooteroo” Johnson recovered a fumble in the endzone to put Pike up 28-0 and Jackson Senn took a handoff 20 yards, putting the Patriots up 35-0.
Jayden Jordan scored Pike’s final two touchdowns of the game. Jordan’s first came on the opening kick of the half when he returned it 70 yards for a touchdown to put Pike up 42-0.
He closed out the scoring in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run.
The Patriots return home next week to battle Monroe Academy. First place will be on the line when the game kicks off beginning at 7 p.m.
