Bulldogs knock off Carroll in tournament

The Pike County High School boy’s basketball team picked up a 71-31 win over the New Brockton Gamecocks on Friday night in the Daleville Christmas Tournament.
The win for the Bulldogs gives them a 3-2 record on the season.
Andres Burney led the way for the Bulldogs when he scored a game-high 17 points. Kevon Harris added 12 and Amaghie Lampley had 10.
The Bulldogs scored at least 20 points in the first three quarters before easing back a bit in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand.
The Bulldogs held the Gamecocks to just two points in the second and went into halftime holding a 45-9 lead. Burney scored 9 of his 17 points in the second quarter.
The Bulldogs will continue play in the tournament today beginning at 5:15 against the winner of G.W. Long and Samson.
Goshen 43 Luverne 47
The Goshen Eagles couldn’t get over the hump in a four-point loss to Luverne on Friday night.
RaQuan Martin finished the game with a team-high 18 points. Dakari Pelton finished with nine points and DeShawne Brown had five.
The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Calhoun.
CHHS 60 Eufaula 65
The Charles Henderson Trojans lost to Eufaula for the second time this season on Friday night. The Trojans had one player finish in double figures. Keonte Brantley led the way with 12 points, while Keith Wheeler, Devin Parker and Marcus Grant each had eight.
The Trojans will be back in action today when they travel to take on Luverne.
