No matter the weather conditions tonight and Saturday, Ole Time Christmas will go on as planned.
Barbara Tatom, museum director, said most of the planned activities are indoors so the weather should not be a factor.
“Everything will go on as planned,” Tatom said. “Old Time Christmas will be from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday.
Ole Time Christmas is a tradition-filled event with colorful decorations, holiday treats, storytelling, ornament making and Christmas music. Of course, Santa Claus has made special plans to visit Ole Time Christmas and is anxious to hear the wishes of all good little boys and girls, Tatom said.
Special music will be presented by Kat Deal tonight and by the Montgomery Dulcimer Players and Deal on Saturday.
From 5:30 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, the museum staff and board will posthumously honor Dr. Eloise Kirk and Judge Billy Gibson for their extraordinary commitment to the museum over the years.
“We invite the families and friends of Dr. Kirk and Judge Gibson to join us as these two well-deserving patrons of our museum are inducted into the Pioneer Museum of Alabama Hall of Honor for 2018,” Tatom said.
Admission to the Ole Time Christmas is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and military. Museum members and children ages five and under are admitted free.
