The Brundidge Business Association’s Annual Banquet will be at 6 p.m. January 17 at Collier’s on Main. Tickets are $15 and are available from any BBA member. All BBA members, community members and those with an interest in the future of Brundidge are encouraged to attend.
Isabell Boyd, BBA board member, said the banquet will recognize those who have made outstanding contributions to the city’s business organization and the community.
“The BBA will also recognize the teachers of the year at Pike County Elementary School and Pike County High School,” Boyd said. “We have two outstanding schools here in Brundidge. We are extremely proud of the faculties and staffs and, of course our students.”
Each year, the BBA honors the teachers of the year.
“We look forward to introducing them to our business organization and are eager to learn more about them and their commitment to education,” Boyd said.
The guest speaker for the 2019 BBA Banquet will be Wiley Lott, director of external affairs and economic development at Southeast Alabama Gas District.
“Wiley Lott is one of us,” Boyd said. “He is responsible for Brundidge getting the Walmart Distribution Center, which is a big part of our business community. He is working with us to bring more business to Brundidge. We appreciate his leadership and his commitment to his hometown.”
BBA President Kathy Sauer will report on the state of the city and what residents might expect in the way of growth in the New Year.
The BBA officers for the year 2019 will be installed and the new board members will be announced.
