Trojans host Little Rock

After a four-game road swing, the Troy women’s basketball team returns home this evening to take on Sun Belt Conference foe Little Rock.
The Trojans are off to their best start in their Division-I history going back to 1993. They have started the season 11-2 overall and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans enter the game ranked 23rd in the latest Mid-Major Top-25 poll.
The Trojans began conference play with a pair of victories against Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State.
After a thrilling 17-point comeback win over Coastal Carolina, the Trojans went to Boone, North Carolina and handed the Mountaineers a 83-72 loss on Saturday afternoon. Tyra Johnson led the Trojans with 16 points, while Sky’Lynn Holmes contributed with 13.
Kayla Robinson and Amber Rivers also finished with double figures with 10 points each.
Little Rock (6-7, 2-0) comes into Trojan Arena after knocking off Louisiana at home 62-48.
Ronjanae DeGray was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday. DeGray averaged nearly 18 points per game with 6.6 rebounds in her last four games.
Kyra Collier leads the Trojans with 13.6 points per game this season with five rebounds.
The Little Rock Trojans knocked Troy out of the SBC Tournament a season ago with a 66-63 win in New Orleans. Little Rock leads the all-time series with the Trojans 18-5. They have won 6 of the 10 meetings in Troy.
