The Pike County Bulldogs secured a spot in the area championship when they knocked off Providence Christian 43-23 on Tuesday evening.

The win for the Bulldogs sets up a championship game between Pike County and the winner of Houston Academy and Wicksburg. The Bulldogs’ lone area loss this season came at the hands of Houston Academy.

Senior Andres Burney finished a triple-double after he had a game-high 22 points with 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Senior Jaidyn Wilson finished with eight points, while Jordan Hobdy had five. Kevon Harris and Amaghie Lampley both finished with four points.

The Bulldogs defense held Providence Christian to single-digit points in all four quarters and allowed just four players to score.

The Bulldogs will play in the finals on Friday beginning at 6 p.m.
