Trojans’ bats fall silent in 6-0 loss

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans had their hands full with Class 6A Northview on Tuesday night in Dothan. Cougar pitcher and Alabama commit Jada Torrence knocked off Charles Henderson 6-0.
The loss leaves the Trojans still searching for their first win of the young season with an 0-2 record.
Torrence held the Trojans offense to no runs and just one hit, while striking out 13 batters over the course of six innings on Tuesday night. Sydni Garrett picked up the lone Trojan hit against Torrence.
Garrett also got the start for the Trojans. Garrett pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, six total, off six hits and four walks. She struck out six batters.
The Wildcats did most of their damage in the middle innings. They broke the scoreless tie with two runs in the third inning on three hits.
The Wildcats earned more separation an inning later when they scored four runs on just two hits to go up 6-0. The Trojans committed two errors in the inning.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they host Trinity in the home opener.
