Junior varsity and varsity Trojans split with Andalusia

The Charles Henderson junior varsity and varsity baseball teams visited Andalusia on Thursday night.
The junior varsity Trojans began the night with a 4-0 win over Andalusia. The varsity Trojans fell to Andalusia 10-1.
The win for the junior varsity Trojans improves their record on the year to 2-3.
Press Jefcoat got the start for the Trojans. he shut out Andalusia over the course of his five innings of work. Andalusia was held to just two hits. Jefcoat struck out seven batters while walking just two.
The Trojans finished with five hits led by Bailey Sparrow who went 2-3. Jefcoat, Cam Foley and Brady Barron all had one.
The Trojans scored the first run of the game in the third when Jefcoat hit a groundball to the shortstop and reached on an error, allowing Coby Johnson to score.
Up 1-0 after three, the Trojans scored three runs in the fourth. Adrian Cardwell scored the first run on a past ball. Daryl Lee then came up and reached on an error that allowed Barron and Noah Prestwood to score.
The varsity Trojans managed just two hits in their nine-run loss to Andalusia.
Keonte Brantley and J.B. Sanders got the two hits for the Trojans in the loss.
Walker Stallworth got the start for the Trojans. Stallworth pitched two innings and gave up five runs on six hits. Jackson Giles pitched three innings and allowed four unearned runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out two.
The Trojans scored their only run in the top of the second inning. Will Reeves scored on an Anthony Gurba groundout.
Andalusia scored four runs in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.
The Trojans will travel to take on Saraland on Saturday beginning at 2:30 in Prattville.
