The Charles Henderson Trojans fell victim to a late rally from Brantley and fell 2-1 in game two of pool play of the Trojan Classic on Friday night.
Charles Henderson staved off a late push from Park Crossing in the first game of pool play and escaped with a 5-3 win.
Game two was a pitcher’s duel that Trojan starter Sydni Garrett was winning until the third inning of the 70 minute game.
Brantley was held scoreless through the first two innings before exploding in the final 15 minutes of the game.
The first three Bulldogs to step up to the plate in the third all reached base. Kassidy Wilcox drove two in with a single and then Kayden Dunn brought in another for good measure.
The Trojans got their only score in the top of the first when Gracie Sneed drove in Graci Williams with a single. Sneed reached base twice in the game, drawing a walk in the third inning.
Charles Henderson put a pair of runners on in the third, but couldn’t advance them past second.
Garrett allowed only two baserunners through the first two innings.
Saturday morning’s game between Park Crossing and Thorsby will decided Charles Henderson’s seed in the tournament.
