According to reports, Troy kick returner and cornerback Marcus Jones has entered the transfer portal.

Jones finished his sophomore season on the All-Sun Belt First Team as a return specialist and second team as a defensive back.

Jones was second in the conference after averaging 25.6 yards per kickoff return. He had a 96-yard touchdown return against Coastal Carolina. He returned the opening kickoff against Coastal Carolina for the second consecutive season.

Jones set the Troy single-season record and tied the Troy career record with three kickoff return touchdowns. He also tied the NCAA record with two kick return touchdowns against Coastal Carolina.

He was named to three national all-American teams including the ESPN Freshman All-American team as a kickoff returner.
