The Charles Henderson Trojans shut out the Enterprise Wildcats in their 5-0 win on Tuesday night in Enterprise.
Daryl Lee got the star for the Trojans. Lee went 4.1 innings on Tuesday and held the Wildcats to just two hits. Lee struck out six, while walking two batters.
Jackson Giles also got on the mound and pitched the remaining 2.2 innings. Giles allowed two hits and walk while striking out one batter.
Tuesday marked the third straight game that the Trojans have shut out an opponent. They haven’t allowed a run in the last 21 innings.
The Trojans scored their five runs on three hits. Catcher Cole McWhorter had a hit, while left fielder Caden Bryan had two.
The Trojans scored the game’s first two runs in the top of the first inning. The Trojans took advantage of Enterprise’s lack of control on the mound. Trojan leadoff hitter Chance Pollard was hit by a pitch and later advanced to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Pollard scored the first Trojan run on a groundout by Giles.
J.B. Sanders scored the second Trojans runner after Walker Stallworth advanced to second on a stolen base attempt.
After two scoreless innings, the Trojans put more distance between themselves and Enterprise when they scored three runs in the fourth to go up 5-0.
Walker Stallworth and Keonte Brantley were both hit by a pitch to start the fourth inning. Will Reeves then loaded the bases when walked. Bryan drove in both Stallworth and Brantley with a double. Reeves came across to score Charles Henderson’s fifth run on a wild pitch.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Eufaula at 5:00 p.m.
