Trojans pick up area win over Carroll

The Charles Henderson Trojans scored early and often in their 13-2 win over Carroll on Wednesday night in Troy.
Sadie Leverette got the start for the Trojans and pitched four innings. Leverette allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks. She struck out one batter.
The Trojans jumped on the board with six runs in the opening inning. Madison Stewart began the scoring with an RBI double, scoring Heather Maxwell. Sydni Garrett and Mykyia Milton came around to score on an error to put the Trojans up 4-0. The Trojans then had RBI doubles by both Leverette and Stella Gilbreath.
After allowing a run in the top of the second inning, the Trojans put the game away with five more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Madison Cain came around to score the first run on a passed ball and Milton followed up with a two-run home run to right field. The Trojans closed out the scoring with RBI singles by Garrett and Williams.
The Trojans went up 11 When Gracie Sneed came around to score on an error by the Eagle catcher.
The Trojans will be back in action today when they host Northview. The junior varsity game will begin at 5 p.m. and the varsity will follow shortly after.
