Sally Dunn Reeves

Sally Dunn Reeves, 93, passed away at her home in Troy surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Mama Sally, as she was known to all, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. A lifelong faithful church member, she was a prayer warrior for her family, church and community.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Grady and Vickie Reeves of Troy; a sister and brother-in-law, June Dunn (Lamar) pivey of Troy; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Doris Dunn of Belleville, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pinkerton of Pensacola, Florida, Louise Reeves of Troy, Ramona Dunn of Troy and Willie V. Dunn of Troy; her grandchildren, Jason (Elly) Reeves of Troy, John (Virginia) Reeves of Montgomery, and Amy (Will) Drinkard of Troy; great-grandchildren, Will Reeves, Drew Reeves, Ben Reeves, Kate Reeves, Mary Hollis Drinkard, Grace Drinkard and Mary Frances Reeves; also numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends and caregivers, Carolyn Knight, Linda Rumph, Lisa Haynes and Sharonda Culver. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Homer Reeves; her parents, Jack and Ida Dunn; her siblings, Margaret Dunn Mills, Evelyn Dunn Harville, Gus Dunn, Bill Dunn and Gardner Dunn. Our family would like to also extend our gratitude to Dr. Eric Law, the Southern Health Associates staff, along with Jimmy and Dale Law, Jennifer McLeod, the staff of Noble Manor for their kindness and care throughout the last four years. Thank you also to Hospice Compassus for their compassionate and heartfelt care during the last two months. You are a light to our community and an extension of God’s love to all of your patients. Our family would also like to thank the staff of Green Hills Funeral Home for their service and compassion during this time.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Troy with Reverend Steve Winton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandfield Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Reeves, Ben Reeves, Drew Reeves, Will Drinkard, Chuck Dunn, Michael Dunn, Keith Mills and Quinn Renfroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Sandfield Cemetery Trust Fund, C/O Troy Bank and Trust, 1000 Highway 231 South, Troy, Alabama 36081, or to the First United Methodist Church, 213 N. 3 Notch Street, Troy, Al 36081.
