The City of Troy will host its third “Downtown Cruise-In” this weekend on the Square for car enthusiasts.
Troy native Art McKnatt said the cruise-in is one of his favorite car shows to bring his 36 Ford pickup truck.
“There’s a lot of fellowship and there’s not any competition for trophies, so it’s one of my favorites to go to,” McKnatt said. “I get to see a lot of people there that I don’t see very often. I know most of the old car guys there in Troy and the cruise-in is a chance to catch up on what’s going on in their lives and talk about the old cars too.”
The event is free for guests and Leigh Anne Windham, event coordinator, said there’s plenty of fun to be had for people that love talking and learning about old cars.
“Guests can talk with the car’s owners all about the vehicles while being up close and personal with the cars,” Windham said. “The Square is the perfect venue for this event and it is fun for the whole family.”
Windham said there has been a great variety of car makes and models in the last two years, giving plenty to look at from old cars to brand new models.
Local musician Lenny Trawick will provide live entertainment during the cruise-in.
Not only is it free for guests that want to come look at the cars, showing a car at the cruise-in is also free and registration can be made when arriving for the event. All participants will receive prize packs and will also be eligible for door prizes.
The car show will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. To sign up beforehand, although not necessary, call Leigh Anne Windham at 334-674-2468.
