Lillian Elois (Lois) Bazzell, 87, of Panama City, Florida, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, June 7, 2019. She was born on March 28, 1932, in Panama City to A.W. McNiel and Lottie McNiel.
She was a 1950 graduate of Bay High School where she was a majorette, softball player, and a member of the Teen-Timers. Through Teen-Timers, she maintained cherished life-long friendships that endured for some 72 years. After traveling the world as the spouse of her Air Force veteran and retiree husband, Samuel J. Bazzell, she worked 24 years as the Office Manager for Dr. Byron McCormick, Adult and Pediatric Urology and Surgical Associates, Panama City, before retiring in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Samuel J. Bazzell; sister, Tanya (Larry) Strickland, Panama City; son, Mark (Judy) Bazzell, Troy, and three grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Bazzell, Auburn; Nicholas (Abigail) Bazzell, Cumming, Georgia; and Adrianne (Adam) Bazzell Harris, Lineville, Alabama; and daughter, Teresa Meredith, Panama City, and two grandchildren, Justin Meredith, Pensacola, and Jerrica Watson, Wewahitchka, Florida. Survivors also include 10 great-grandchildren Mark Bazzell, Draken Watson, Mia Meredith, Jeffery Bazzell, Kylie Souza, Knox Harris, Beau Bazzell, Holland Harris, Christian Bazzell, and Truett Harris.
Services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City with Pastor Craig Brannon officiating with Internment at Parker Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. preceding the services. The family wishes to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and Tracey Parrish for their caring, compassionate, and professional services.
Pallbearers will include Justin Meredith, Chris Bazzell, Nicholas Bazzell, Mark Bazzell, Adam Harris, and Jason Pate.
