Second suspect charged with attempted murder in Sunday shooting

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting at a Troy restaurant Sunday.

Christopher Jarquis Guice, 27, of Troy was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder as well as discharging a firearm into an occupied building or vehicle.

Guice is the brother of Alex Ladarius White, who was arrested and charged with attempted murder Monday in connection to the shooting.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday at a restaurant I the 100 block of U.S. Highway 231, leaving a 22-year-old male injured.

The 22-year-old male was struck multiple times in the lower leg after several rounds were fired into the vehicle he was sitting in, according to police. He was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and was

then transported to a Montgomery hospital for further treatment. A second victim, a 23-year-old male, was grazed across his stomach. His injuries were minor. He did not immediately seek medicaal treatment.

Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said White and the injured victim were involved in a verbal altercation at another location prior to the incident.

Guice was booked into the Pike County Jail on a $125,000 bond. Attempted murder is a Class A Felony. Discharge of a firearm into an occupied building or vehicle is a Class C Felony.
