The Beatles will “Return” to the stage at 7 p.m. tonight at the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of Troy University.
“The Return” is a Beatles tribute group that has performed all over the world.
Bill Hopper, president of the sponsoring Troy Arts Council, said the TAC is proud to bring this outstanding tribute band to Troy.
“‘The Return” is a band of four boys from small town Griffin Georgia,” Hopper said. “They recorded in Abbey Road Studios in London, England where the ‘Beatles’ made some of their most memorable albums. The band has performed at the world-famous Cavern Club in Liverpool where many other great bands of their time got their big break.”
“The Return” headlined at Tokyo’s 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Beatles’ only visit to Japan and at thousands of venues across the United States, Hopper said.
“‘The Return’ will sing the Beatles’ top hits such as ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand,’ and ‘A Hard Day’s Night,’ Hopper said. “And, they’ll play homage to their musical idols with favorites including ‘Roll Over Beethoven.’ ‘Twist and Shout’ and ‘Long Tall Sally.’”
Hopper said “The Return” is a concert that those who grew up with the Beatles will not want to miss.
“But it’s a concert for all ages,” he said. “This tribute band is outstanding in performing the songs that made the Beatles famous. This concert will be the next thing to experiencing the Beatles ‘live.’ So, come and enjoy the show.”
Tickets for “The Return” are $20 and will be available at the door. Troy Arts Council members will be admitted free with the post card mailed to them.
