Patriots celebrate senior night with win over Abbeville

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots had a reason to celebrate on Monday when they knocked off Abbeville in four sets on senior night.
The Patriots improved to 5-6 on the season after they knocked off Abbeville 25-12, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16.
“Tonight was a good night for the Patriots,” head coach Lana Johnson said. “This was a needed win.”
Sarah Elizabeth Calhoun finished nine for nine in hits and had one kill. Anna Jordan finished seven for eight in hits and had two kills. She was 16 for 16 while serving and had four aces. Mary Ramage had four aces and 11 assists.
Ally Rushing had five aces and 15 points, while Grace Rushing led the team with six kills.
Monday night marked the final time that four Patriots played in front of their home crowd. Seniors Mary Ramage, Sarah Elizabeth Calhoun, Anna Jordan and Aubrey Maulden were all honored on Monday night.
“Tonight was senior night,” Johnson said. “Our seniors certainly did their part in contributing to tonight’s win. Their leadership will be missed.
The Patriots will hit the road today to take on Fort Dale in a double match in Greenville beginning. The junior varsity squads will start at 3 p.m.
