The Pike County United Appeal is inviting all Pike Countians to participate in a fun Halloween Photo Contest that is a fundraiser in support of local agencies that provide services for friends and neighbors in need.
There are three categories of interest for the Halloween Costume Photo Contest– people, pets and businesses/groups. All photos submitted must be in good taste as if they were going to hang in City Hall. The deadline for entry is 5 p.m. on November 1 and voting end at 11:59 p.m. on November 1.
“Enter if you dare!”
Grand prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category. The entry fee is $5 per photo and votes are $1. Pike County United Appeal retains the right to use pictures submitted.
Jeff Cotton, president, Pike County United Appeal, said Pike County United Appeal is a non-profit organization supporting agencies in Pike County through annual fundraisers, and employee paycheck contributions. All the money raised is locally distributed to the various United Appeal Agencies.
So those who have had any interaction with the Colley Senior Center, the Human Society of Pike County, the Boy Scouts, The House of Hope, Pioneer Museum of Alabama and Boys and Girls Club during the year 2019, will want to “picture this.”
Or, if the American Red Cross, OCAP, Salvation Army, Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Precious Paws Sanctuary, East Central Mental Health, Sav-A-Life or the Easter Seal has assisted you in any way, please “picture this.”
All proceeds will benefit United Appeal’s local “Spooktacular” Nonprofits. The goal for the Pike County United Appeal Halloween Costume Contest is $1,000 … But, it would tickle the skeleton’s funny bones to ghoul over.
