Trojan basketball continues lengthy road trip

Both the Troy men’s and women’s basketball teams will stay on the road in this weekend. The Trojan men will return to the state of Alabama to take on Samford in Birmingham on Saturday. The Trojan women will take on their second-straight Power 5 School in Duke on Sunday.

The Trojan men fell in the final seconds to Texas A&M 56-52 on Wednesday night. The Trojans dropped to 1-3 on the season with their only win coming against Carver College. Darian Adams comes into the game second on the team in scoring with 70 points, one behind team leader Zay Williams. Adams led the team with 20 points during the loss against the Aggies.

Samson comes into the game with a 3-3 record. They are coming off a 70-57 win over Manhattan College. The Bulldogs are led by Josh Sharkey who is averaging 16 points per game and Robert Allen who is averaging 15 points.

The Troy women’s basketball team fell to No. 10 Mississippi State 122-82. It was their first loss of the season and they now sit at 3-1 on the season.

Jasmine LeBlanc and Japonica James come in as the leading scorers, averaging 13.5 points per game.

The Duke Blue Devils enter the game 3-2 and are coming off an 85-66 win over Idaho State. Leaonna Odom leads the Blue Devils in scoring, averaging 19 points per game.
