A family lost everything Monday morning when their Kelley Road home was destroyed by fire.
Meeksville firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday to find the home engulfed in flames.
The home’s two residents, Amanda Lasseter and daughter Bre Bell were away from the home at the time of the fire.
Joyce Hughes, who owns the property, said she is working to relocate the family to one of her other properties.
“We’ve never had anything else like this happen,” Hughes said.
With everything inside destroyed, the family now needs all the help they can get replacing household items from beds to pots and pans to clothing.
Lasseter wears a medium shirt and size 8 shoes. Bell also wears a medium shirt, size 7 shoes and size 7 pants.
Any supplies can be dropped off at Kelly’s Food Mart at 22507 U.S. Highway 231 in Troy. The store is open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
