Patriots sweep Northside

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots kept on rolling Thursday night when they knocked off area foe Northside Methodist 44-41 in Troy.

The win gives the Lady Patriots their 11th straight win and they now sit 17-7 on the season.

The Patriots outscored the Knights 13-5 in the fourth quarter and held on to their three-point win.

Shelby Renfroe knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and the Patriots went into the second quarter with an 11-8 lead. The Knights came back to even the game in the second quarter after outscoring the Patriots 12-9.  The game went into halftime tied at 20.

After being outscored in the third 14-12, the Patriots went into the fourth quarter trailing 34-32. Renfroe scored eight points in the fourth quarter and the Patriots secured their 11th straight win.

Renfroe finished with a team high 27 points. Lakin Harrell and Caroline Senn finished with six points, while Ansley Adams had two.

The varsity boys were also in action on Thursday night. They pulled away early and knocked off the Knights 96-34.

All 12 players scored on Thursday night. Javon Christian led the way with 19 points, while Drew Nelson finished with 18. Nick O’Brien finished with 16 points, while Austin Cross had 14. Kase Chirico had eight points, while Peyton Jacobs and Connor Cox had five. Tre Holmes finished with three points and Jaquavian Johnson, Avery Ernsberger and Bubba Dean had two.

The Patriots will be back in action on Monday when they travel to take on Fort Dale Academy.
