The 78th Annual Pike County Steer and Heifer Show will be Saturday at Cattleman Park.
The steer and heifer show will be held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Goat Show.
“The public is invited to come out and support the county’s future cattlemen/cattlewomen in their dedication to their cattle and goat projects,” said Heath Wesley, Pike County Junior Cattlemen board chair.
Lunch will be served prior to the opening of the shows at 1:30 p.m. and will be provided by the Pike County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen.
“If there are young people who are interested in showing livestock, we invite them to come join us and talk with the kids and their parents and see what showing livestock is all about,” Wesley said.
The steer and heifer show will feature 13 kids with their animals and 21 kids will participate with their goats in the goat show.
“The goat show will be at 1:30 p.m. and the kids and their goats will be in costume,” said Abby Peters, Pike County Extension coordinator. “The goat show is always a lot of fun so come early and stay to see both shows.”
The Pike County Steer and Heifer show will get underway as soon as the goat show is over.
The 78th Annual Pike County Steer and Heifer Show and the 5th Annual Goat Show showcase a group of hard-working and dedicated young people. The community is invited to come out and support them and in appreciation of their efforts.
Admission and fun are free.
