The Brundidge Police Department promoted two of its officers in a ceremony held during the department’s annual spring meeting Saturday at the Brundidge police station.
Patrolman Christopher Brooks was promoted to corporal and is also serving the Brundidge Police Department as interim investigator.
Corp. Ronald Yohn was promoted to sergeant. His increased responsibilities will include traffic control.
“Corp. Brooks and Sgt. Yohn are outstanding officers that are dedicated to law enforcement and to our community,” Davenport said. “At the Brundidge Police Department, we are proud to promote these two officers and look forward to working with them in the new ranks.”
Yohn has been with the BPD for 14 years and is diligent in his efforts to ensure the safety of the city and its residents, Davenport said.
“Sgt. Yohn has a relationship with the community that enables him to provide a unique and valuable service to the citizens of Brundidge,” Davenport said. “Corp. Brooks worked with the BPD prior to coming back five years ago. Altogether, he has been with us about eight years. He worked as assistant investigator before being promoted to interim investigator. He has worked with the Drug Task Force and the District Attorney’s office.”
Davenport said Brooks and Yohn are dedicated to the City of Brundidge and are community minded.
“They have good rapport with the community,” the Brundidge police chief said. “By promoting them in the ranks, we recognize their dedication and their loyalty and to let them know they are greatly appreciated.”
