Tony Wood, age 57, a resident of Troy, AL died at his home after an extended battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a private graveside service was held Saturday, April 18, 2020 in Banks Cemetery with Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Tony is survived by his wife of 39 years Lindy Mobley Wood of Troy, AL; daughters, Erin Wood Sellers (Jared) of Enterprise, AL, Keri Wood of St. Charles, MO, Kristin Wood Daughtry (Taylor) of Enterprise; sister, Patricia Sharp (David) of Slocomb, AL; 4 grandchildren, Olivia Sellers, Luke Sellers, Elizabeth Sellers and Ruby Daughtry; father-in-law, Lawrence Mobley of Brundidge, numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Norma Wood and mother-in-law, Delatha Mobley.
Tony worked closely with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency as a certified Chaplin and serving closely also with the Alabama State Troopers, local police and fire departments. He served many churches in the area and truly loved the Lord. He loved his grandchildren who affectionately called him Paw Paw. He and Lindy also were the owners of the Brundidge Florist.
