Alice Woodruff Fowlkes
April 26, 1949- June 25, 2020
Alice Faye danced with the angels into the arms of her parents, Winfield L. and Alice; brothers, Winfield C. (Flo) and Salvador Woodruff. She went peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Dulac, La.
Alice grew up in Metairie, La. and attended Cabrini High School. She loved traveling with her loving husband and best friend, Robert Q. Fowlkes. A true New Orleans lady, she enjoyed dancing and culinary adventures with her family. She was a natural caregiver and had a way of leading you through any trial.
Alice is survived by her husband, Robert Fowlkes; sister-in-law, Ann Calloway; children, Alette Hatfield (Andy), Andre’ Paez (Amber), Phaedra Sevin (Jerry), Ashley Fowlkes (Marcus), Robert Fowlkes (Josefa), Aimee Kuykendall (Eric); grandchildren, Nicholas, Madelin, Hunter, Garrett, Mackenzie, Robert, Aylin, George, Stella, Claire, Eleanor, and her fierce protector Kiki Barkevious.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to send a special thanks to her nurse, Amie Chauvin from Journey Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance at Give.ocrahope.org
