Bro. William Orris Sanders, age 97, a resident of Goshen, had his home going on Monday, June 29, 2020 at his home. Funeral arrangements for Bro. Sanders will be held on Thurday, July 2, 2020 at 2 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with the Rev. Jeremy Bunnell and Rev. Steve Carson officiating. Bro. Sanders will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen, AL with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 5 pm until 7 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Bro. Sanders served as an ordained Pastor since 1963. During his service as a Pastor he spread the word to 8 churches in Pike, Crenshaw, and Bullock Counties. He served in World War II in the European and Pacific theatres, and was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He married his loving wife of 72 years in Paradise, LA in 1944.

Serving as pallbearers will be Walt Williams, Braxton Stewart, Jackson Kyzar, Brandon Gasper, Jay Adair, and Shane Chance.

He is survived by his daughter: Debbie Adair (Stan); son: Bill Sanders (Ann); grandchildren: Nicole Adair, Shay Chance (Shane), Jay Adair (Jessica), Toni Williams (Jimmy), Valerie Kyzar (Jay), Jay Hughes (Ashley), William Sanders III (Jessica); great grandchildren: Braxton Stewart, Brandon Gasper (Christine), Lauren Chance, Brentley Chance, Jayleigh Adair, Miller Adair, Mason Adair, Myles Adair, Tate Adair, Tucker Adair, Kaitlyn Williams, Walt Williams, Jackson Kyzar, Olivia Kyzar, Erin Hughes, Libby Sanders; great great grandchildren: Bryar Stewart, Riley Gasper, Lainey Revels; sister: Jean Sporman; several nieces, and nephews; dedicated caregivers: Annie Ruth Tyson, Mary Clayton; and his special hospice care aide: Ruby Parks. He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years: Irene Sanders; parents: B.L. and Ferrell Motes Sanders; and brother: Lamar Sanders.
