With the advent of another new month the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge is back open for business with its regular hours, from  9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Theresa Trawick, library director, said although “Tupper” is back open with regular hours, a few new rules have been instituted for the safety of Tupper’s patrons and the library staff.

“Face masks are required at all time when inside the library,” Trawick said. “Social distancing of six feet is also required and gloves are required when browsing for books and/or DVDs. The library staff will have gloves available.”

Trawick said curbside pick-up is available for those who do not want to come inside. Book and DVD requests may be made by calling 334-735-2145.

“Just call us when you are in the parking lot and a staff member will bring the books out to you,” she said.

“A Social Distanced Gathering of the  Silent Book Club will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. on July 7. A light supper will be provided. So, those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by July 5 at 334- 735-2145.

The Summer Reading Program Finale  for registered Summer Reading Program participants will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 9. Call the library for more details.

“Planting Seeds; Growing Words” participants are encouraged to continue the writing discussion online by joining the new Facebook group.

“The Silent Book Club is a book club  with no assigned reading, where bookish people gather to discuss the things they are reading or have read.

“Due to the coronavirus, several of our groups have not been able to meet,” Trawick said. “But, thanks to Facebook, we can still stay connected. Go to our Facebook page and check out our virtual groups and programs.”

Trawick said those who would like a free eBook for their smartphone or other device are encouraged to call the library for information.

“Tupper” will be closed on July 4. The library staff wishes everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July.
