Pike County Bulldogs release 2020 football schedule

The Pike County Bulldogs football schedule will feature plenty of new teams as they begin their first season in Class 3A Region 4.

After spending the last two seasons in Region 2, the Bulldogs will participate in a region full of brand new teams. Joining Pike County in Region 4 will be Beulah, Childersburg, Dadeville, Montgomery Catholic, Reeltown, Trinity Presbyterian and cross county rival Goshen.

After hosting rival Charles Henderson in a jamboree on August 21, the Bulldogs officially open the 2020 campaign a week later when they travel to take on Hillcrest Evergreen out of Class 3A Region 1.

The Bulldogs region opener and home opener the following Friday night when they host Dadeville on September 11.

After traveling the following week to take on Trinity Presbyterian, the Bulldogs spend their next two Fridays playing at Bulldogs Stadium. They take on Carroll out of Class 5A Region 2 on September 25 before returning to region play on October 4 against Montgomery Catholic.

The following week the Bulldogs travel to Goshen to take on the Eagles. They will play each other for the first time as region opponents. The two schools haven’t met since the 2017 season when Goshen knocked off the Bulldogs 24-14.

The Bulldogs close out the regular season with a road game against Childersburg on October 16 and a home game against Reeltown on October 25.

Pike County’s 2020 opponents had a combined record of 55-37 last season. Five opponents made the postseason including Reeltown who advanced to the Class 3A championship in 2019.
