Pike County tops 670 cases

Pike County added 12 new cases of COVID-19 overnight Tuesday.

The county has confirmed 672 cases since tracking began in March, with seven deaths.

Statewide, 886 new cases were added overnight Tuesday, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health 10 a.m. update. The state’s total caes are 91,776 with 1,639 deaths.

Wednesday is the second day in a row that new cases have fallen below 1,000 since July 7. The 7-day average for new cases dropped to 1,457.71.

According to ADPH numbers, 20,155 cases have been confirmed in the past 14 days and 166,840 tests have been reported.

Statewide hospitalizations were 1,517 current, and 11,100 overall.

The ADPH estimates 35,401 have recovered from the virus.
