Pike County tops 700 cases

Pike County surged past 700 COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
The county added 17 cases new cases overnight Friday, bringing the total to 703 since tracking began in March, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
The ADPH daily update, which normally is released at 10 a.m., was delayed until late evening on Saturday.
Statewide, 1,786 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 96,613 with 1,694 confirmed deaths.
More than 37,920 people are presumed recovered.
Among the spots with the biggest growth in the state, Clarke County reported 166 new cases overnight.
