Ariton comes up just short against Geneva County

The Ariton Purple Cats football team (2-2) fell 54-41 against Region 2 rival Geneva County on Friday night in Hartford.
The Purple Cats now have a Region 2 record of (1-1).
The Purple Cats recorded 469 total yards of offense, with 264 through the air, and 205 on the ground.
Ariton quarterback Ian Senn completed 10 of his 22 passing attempts for a total of 205 yards and three touchdowns.
Cade Webb led the receivers with 4 catches for 95 yards and 1 touchdown. Isaiah Johnson had 2 catches for 69 yards with 1 touchdown, while Hayes Floyd had 3 catches for 34 yards with 1 touchdown.
The Purple Cat’s ground team was led by Landon Thrash, who carried the ball 11 times for 126 yards. Quarterback Ian Senn carried the ball 8 times for 106 yards and a touchdown, while Jordan Smith carried the ball 5 times for 22 yards and 1 touchdown.
Landon Thrash led the Purple Cats with 17 tackles, while Trevor McLaughlin added 15 and Dewayne Riley had 12. Ryan Danzy and Ian Senn each had 11. Dancy had two tackles for loss.
The Purple Cats scored 6 points in the first quarter, 7 points in the second and third quarters, and 21 points in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs scored 13 points in the first quarter, 15 points in the second quarter, 6 points in the third quarter, and 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Ian Senn was credited with 4 touchdowns, while Hayes Floyd, Cade Webb, and Isaiah Johnson all scored 1 receiving touchdown each. Jordan Smith recorded a touchdown on the ground.
