The Pike County United Appeal will be the recipient of the support and generosity of 2 Brothers Frozen Treats. The 2 Brothers will host a fundraiser for local United Appeal from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

The 2 Brothers Frozen Treats truck will be located behind Me Time at 419 South Three Notch Street in Troy.

Melinda Conner, Pike County United Appeal secretary, said COVID-19 is slowing the fundraising efforts and she and the board are very appreciative of 2 Brothers for coming on board in support of the Pike County United Appeal’s fundraising efforts.

“A portion of the frozen treats that are purchased on Saturday morning will go to the Pike County United Appeal in support of the 16 local agencies the Pike County United Appeal assists,” Conner said. “These two young brothers have wonderful frozen treats and they have dairy free ice cream for those who prefer it. They also have frozen treats for pets. So, bring your pets along and treat them, too, while supporting the Pike County United Appeal.”

Conner said, as an added incentive for people to support the United Appeal, Me Time, is inviting those who purchase frozen treats between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, to come inside and register for a free yoga session.

Conner said charitable organizations are having to adjust to the restrictions of COVID-19 and fundraising is challenging.

The 16 local agencies that are supported by the Pike County United Appeal are: American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, Boy Scouts of America-Pike County, Colley Senior Complex, East Central Mental Health, Easter Seals of Alabama, Humane Society of Pike County, Organized Community Action Program, Pike Count y 4-H Clubs, Pioneer Museum of Alabama, Retire Senior Volunteer Program, Salvation Army, Sav-A-Life and Precious Paws Sanctuary.

“We have added a new agency this year, the House of Hope in Brundidge, Conner said. “We are proud to be able to serve this new agency in our county.”

Conner said the Pike County United Appeal graciously accepts donations. Those who would like to make a donation to the local United Appeal may do so at 2 Brothers Frozen Treat Truck on Saturday or mail a donation to: Pike County United Appeal, P.O. Box 204, Troy, AL 36081. Donations are tax deductible.
