Patriots fall to Chambers

In a battle of the unbeaten in LaFayette, the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots fell to Chambers Academy 44-25 on Friday night.

It was a game that pitted two top five teams against each other. The Rebels improve to 5-0, while the Patriots fall to 4-1.

After trailing by 11 at 30-19 at the half, the Patriots were outscored 14-6 in the second half to secure the win for Chambers.

The Patriots totaled 342 yards of offense on Friday. Senior quarterback Mayes White completed 5 of his 21 passes for 186 yards, three of which resulted in touchdowns.

Receiver Jay Taylor had two of those touchdowns to go along with three catches and 114 yards. Mario Davenport and Aaron Greenwood also had touchdowns for the Patriots.

Peyton Dicks finished with a team high 11 tackles, while K.C. Bradford added eight.

The Patriots will be back in action next Friday night when they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights.
