Saturday October 3, 2020 at about 7:45 p.m. James E. “Fuzz” Richards went home to be with his heavenly father. He passed from this life into eternity peacefully with his family at his side. Fuzz was born at home in Brundidge, Alabama on December 23, 1945. He was 74 at the time of his passing. Fuzz was one of the original truck drivers for Hudson Industries until he retired in January 1994. Upon his retirement, Fuzz continued his love of the road, a good day was gassing up his motorcycle, choosing a direction and hitting the open road with his buddy Melvyn Hayes. Fuzz also enjoyed his passion for his Native American history, old westerns and Hank Williams Sr.
Skeen Funeral Home of Troy assisted the family with a simple cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fuzz leaves behind his wife of 54 years Lillian Adkins Richards, Troy, AL; two children, Gregory Floyd Richards and Kelly Lynn Richards both from Troy; a grandson Douglas Aaron Aldridge and wife Tonia. Fuzz is preceded in death by his father Issac Richards, mother Goldie Barefoot Richards and his siblings Joe Richards, Jerry Dean Richards and a sister that passed in infancy.
His family will miss his presence here on earth but await the day they are reunited with him in Heaven.
The Richards family wants to extend a special thank you to everyone with Compassus Hospice that cared for Fuzz during last year and half and all the compassion shown to the family.
Thank You to all our special friends and family that helped us through this time. You are greatly
appreciated. — with Lillian Adkins Richards and Aaron Aldridge.
