The Troy Public Library has long been known for having the biggest Halloween bash in town. Shanlie Wolter, children’s librarian, said this year’s bash will be the bash of all bashes.

Rather than one day of Halloween fun, the TPL will spread the fun over Hall-O- Week.

Each day, from Monday through Friday, the TPL will have fun activities for all ages.

Beginning on Monday, youngsters will be invited to “Check Out a Good BooOOOoook.”

“Kids who check out a scary story on Monday will received a fun Halloween Bookmark craft kit,” Wolter said.

On Tuesday, kids can participate in an “All Treats, No Tricks Baking Project.”

“Those who would like to participate in the baking project may come to the library and pick up the supplies to bake and decorate a Brownie Pumpkin Patch with their families,” Wolter said.

“Then, on Wednesday, we will have “Spooky Virtual Storytime.”

To take part in the Spooky Virtual Storytime, visit the TPL Facebook page @troycitylibary and link to the Halloween-themed storytime. Then come to the library and pick up a free glow-in-the-dark slime, Wolter said.

On Thursday, it’s “Frights! Camera! ‘Action!

“Come to the library and check out a spooky film and receive a free popcorn and candy bundle to make your home movie night extra special,” Wolter said. “Then, on Friday, it’s ‘Trick-or-Treat at the Troy Public Library with open house trick-or-treating through the library all day long.”

Wolter said trick-or-treating is often more fun in costume but it is not required.

“The trick-or-treaters in costume may choose to participate in the TPL costume contest during their visits,” Wolter said. “We will announce the winners of the costume contest Friday night on the TPL Facebook page.”

The TPL has a week of fun events and activities planned for Halloween.

Wolter said kids are invited to come, participate in one of the activities or in the entire week of Halloween fun.
