Students of all ages and from all schools in Pike County will come together at the Johnson Center for the Arts at 6 p.m. Tuesday for the recognition of the students who have been awarded ribbons for their artwork in Troy Bank & Trust’s 20023 Student Art Show.
Pam Smith, art show director, said this year’s TB&T Student Art Show, once again, invited students in grades K-12 to create art the size of a dollar bill.
And, the students responded with almost wall-to-wall artwork the size of a dollar bill, 6×2 inches.
Smith said students enjoy working on a small canvas because the size provides them with an opportunity to create more art.
Smith said the Awards Presentation Ceremony will feature a PowerPoint presentation of the winners as they are presented their certificates.
“The Best of Show students will be recognized with their teachers who will receive a $100 award to use for art supplies for their students,” Smith said.
The Johnson Center will be open prior to the awards program so students and their families will be able to view the artwork before the awards program.
“Ribbons are on the winning artwork so those who come early will have a good opportunity to take photos,” Smith said.
