Since the Century & Heritage Farm Program began in 1976, the department has recognized more than 700 farms in Alabama.
In the recent past, 56 farms in Pike County have been recognized by the program.
The awards presented most recently include: Blackmon Farm, Randal and Gail Thompson, 2010; Renfroe Preservation, LLC, Gene and Jana Renfroe, 2015; Carter Hill Farm, Briar Hill Carter E. Anthony, 2015; Wesley Farms, Billy Wesley, Banks, 2016, Gray Farm, William Lee Gray, Troy, 2016; Chandler Farm, William and Lynne Stone, County Road 1112, Troy, 2-17; Chandler Farm, David and Lauren Cole, Troy, 2017;
Barbaree Farm, Jerry Robert Barbaree, Banks, 2017; W.W. Curtis and Sons, Inc., Troy, 2018; Mills Farms, C. Keith Mills, Goshen, 2018; William Peavy Trotter Farm Shady Grove, 2019; Thompson Timber Farm, Pamela Thompson, Cutchens, James B.
