Old Time Christmas at Pioneer Museum

The Pioneer Museum of Alabama has a great weekend of Christmas activities planned for Ole Time Christmas on Friday and Saturday nights December 8 and 9.
Barbara Tatom, museum director, said the activities will be in the museum’s main building, the historic buildings on the grounds and on the grounds.
Inside the museum on Friday night, the featured entertainment will be the Montgomery Dulcimer Players, and Laura Webber, harpist, will be the featured entertainment on Saturday.
Children will visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, trim a tree and make yarn decorations.
Art McKnatt will be in the general store to share stories about Christmas-time around the pot-bellied stove.
Gentry Hassett, the schoolmarm, will be in the Little Red Schoolhouse to share stories of Christmas for children back in pioneer days.
Jean Dominguez will be in the demonstration cabin cooking on the wood burning stove and open hearth. Denise Stanton will lead a make and take weaving craft in the Redmon cabin.
On the grounds and around the campfire, members of the militia will tell stories of Christmas during wartime and there will also be s’mores to enjoy.
Admission to Ole Time Christmas is $10 for adults; $9 for seniors over 60 and military; Students $8 and museum members and children under five will be admitted free.
