This weekend, Theodore senior defensive lineman Kevin Norwood announced his commitment to play college football at Troy University.

Trojan fans got some much-needed good news on Sunday when the 6-foot-3-inch, 290-pound defensive lineman announced his decision via social media. Norwood is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and is the No. 60 overall prospect in Alabama.

Norwood holds offers from all over the country but chose to commit to Troy over offers from Louisville, Arkansas, Colorado, UAB, Texas A&M, Marshall, Memphis, Liberty, Jacksonville State, Georgia State, Indiana, South Alabama and more. He originally committed to South Alabama during the summer but de-committed in November.

As a junior, Norwood tallied 86 tackles, 16 tackles-for-loss and four sacks at Blount High School. He transferred to Theodore as a senior and was selected to play in the AHSAA North-South All-Star team.

Troy earns the commitment from Norwood after junior college (JUCO) defensive back Samson Israel de-committed from Troy earlier in the weekend.
