Jeanell Barnett Enzor
Jeanell Barnett Enzor, age 86 a resident of Troy, died Monday, December 25, 2023 at Southern Springs Healthcare in Union Springs. Visitation for Mrs. Enzor was held, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 5pm – 7pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 2pm in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Johnson, Rev. Coleman Ulmer and Rev. Edward Creel officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: John Ford, Tommy Wright, Tommy Keith, David Keith, Ben Chancellor, Jayden Barnes, Taytom Barnes, Baylor Barnes, Heath Enzor, Jon Austin Motes and Brandon Helms.
Mrs. Enzor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Enzor was a classic example of what a good southern woman should be. She loved the lord, loved her family and everyone she came in contact with. For many the first thing that came to mind when thinking of Ms. Enzor was her selflessness. She constantly sought out what she could do for others and always put others above herself. The years spent in ministry alongside her husband and the lives she touched will be felt for generations. She loved spending time with her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children: Stephen Burney Enzor Sr., Mark Alan Enzor (Patricia), Melanie Enzor Ross (Jeffery); grandchildren: Rikki (David), Vandi, Danni, Stephen Jr., Alyssa (Josh), Kacee (Gabe), Heath, Kaylee (Coleman), Jayden (Samantha), Taytom (Hannah), Baylor (Ashley), Raylen (Jon Austin), Daniel (Kate), Bryan (Kelsey), Emily (Kolby), Ashley (Lisle); great-grandchildren: Samuel,Evie Lou, Cece, Addie Mac, Ginny, Raynes, Yates, Ivey Grace, Eli, Emreigh, Ava, Hadlee, Jon Asher, Carter, Jackson, Owen, Joycee, Milly, Mac; cousin, Sharon Keith (Tommy); sister-in-law, Patricia Barnett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other cousins and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Burney Hughes Enzor BG (Retired); parents: Vandy and Dorothy Barnett; and brothers: Dr. Edward Barnett and Jerry Barnett.
Nickie Smothers
Nickie Smothers, age 90, a resident of the Shiloh Community, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services for Ms. Smothers were held, Friday, December 29, 2023, at 12pm at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service from 11am – 12pm at the church.
Ms. Smothers was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Ms. Smothers was best known for her career as a secretary at Troy State University for over 20 years. She was a strong woman and mother who raised her six children. Anyone who knew her knew that she was firm but fair. If you treated her with respect, she would return it in kind. She also loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Ms. Smothers is survived by her children: Sharon Fortune (Leon), Diane Campbell (Buck), Edward Robinson, Pamela Rusie, Stephen Smothers (Sonya), John Smothers (Amanda); grandchildren: David Jackson (Anya), Daniel Jackson, Susan Hughes (Jeremy), John Campbell, Joseph Rusie (Kristy), Thomas Smothers, Sarah Smothers, Lily Kate Smothers; great-grandchildren: Emily Hughes, Ty Hughes, Lillian Rusie and Joa Jackson.
The family will be accepting flowers or donations may be made in her name to the Troy University Foundation, for the cause of your choice.
