Gary Atwell of Troy, AL passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at his residence. He was 65. Skeen Funeral Home will be assisting the Atwell family with a simple cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Faulkner officiating. Gary was born March 2, 1958 in Troy, AL to the late William Glenn Atwell and Josephine Cobb Atwell. He is survived by his partner, Barbara Brooks Dunn, Troy; son, Greg Atwell (Meredith); daughter, Jessica Atwell Jones (Willie Jr.); four grandchildren Hazel Atwell Paris Jones, Jayden Jones, Gabbie Jones; siblings, Mary Jo Cobb Dansby (Donald), Brundidge, William Atwell Jr “Bill” (Deborah), Goshen and Susan Atwell Ward (Jeffrey), Panama City, FL.
