Robert Beard Drinkard

Robert Beard Drinkard, age 95, a resident of Brundidge, AL died Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Grand South Senior Living.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Bobby Jon Drinkard officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be held in Hopewell Cemetery.

After retirement from a long career in Sales at Troy Motors, ‘Pap’ could be found at Whaley Pecan Company working the door in the buying department where he worked part-time during pecan season for 26 years.

He also faithfully served his church as a Deacon at Salem Baptist Church in Brundidge for many years.

Mr. Drinkard is survived by his daughter, Mary Drinkard Anderson; daughters-in-law, Martha Hawkins Drinkard, and Sherrie Hollis Drinkard; grandchildren, Molly Anderson Jones (David), Bobby Jon Drinkard (Hayley), Casey Anderson, Will Drinkard (Amy), Rob Drinkard (Morgan) and Hawkins Drinkard (Amy) and 14 great-grandchildren and his brothers Boyd Drinkard (Pat), and Donnie Drinkard (Pat).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Qualls Drinkard; parents, L.L. and Ina Beard Drinkard; two sons, Bobby Drinkard, Jim Drinkard; his brothers, Billy Drinkard, Hugh Drinkard, Alvin Drinkard, Charles Drinkard and his sisters, Betty Knotts, Ammanette Kyzar and Mary Claire Drinkard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Anderson, Hawkins Drinkard, Rob Drinkard, Will Drinkard, Bobby Jon Drinkard and David Jones.
