Area Softball: Charles Henderson, Zion Chapel pick up dominant wins

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans picked up a resounding 19-0 win over Greenville in five innings on Monday.
Jada Jones led CHHS at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, four RBIs and three runs, while Calleigh Compton went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, a double and two runs. Aderian Greenwood went 2-for-3 with three runs. Janazia Cantlow went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Keirstin Gamble scored two runs and Reece Garrett scored three runs.
Molly Garrett struck out eight batters, while giving up just three hits and no runs in five innings in the circle.
The Zion Chapel Lady Rebels (11-0) remained undefeated on Monday with a 5-1 win over the Kinston Lady Bulldogs.
Amber Kidd led the Lady Rebs at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, while Kaylee Hodge, Kennedy Hussey and Madison Meeks scored one run. Aubrey Bassett also scored two runs. Sydney Boothe struck out eight batters and gave up three hits and one earned run in seven innings pitched.
