Farm-City Committee sets chart for 2024

The Pike County Farm City Committee met Tuesday afternoon at the Pike County Board of Education Building in downtown Troy.
Bethany Allen was welcomed to the meeting as the new Pike County Chamber president. She was invited to be an active and involved member of the Pike County Farm City Committee.
The Farm-City members expressed their desires to work closely with the Chamber in support of the relationship between the rural and urban communities.
The committee discussed ideas for using the money raised for 2024 projects.
The purchase of a camera for use at Farm-City activities and events was met with interest. The camera could be used to promote activities and events, well as a provide a lasting record of Farm City activities and the many who support the relationship with their time and talents.
Debra Hobbs Davis, suggested the purchase of a camera that utilizes a variety of lenses, therefore, allowing for more options for shots, depth of field, adjusting shutter speed and/or wide angles.
The committee members agreed that such a camera is needed and will be a wise investment.
The State Farm-City Banquet is an opportunity meet other Farm-City committee members throughout the state and to learn more about the different ways to strengthen the farm/city relationship.
Several committee members expressed interest in attending the State Farm-City Banquet that will be held in Auburn, this year.
