Pike Lib, Ariton Baseball and ZCHS Softball retain spots in ASWA Poll

The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) released its newest Top 10 Baseball and Softball Polls this week with Pike Liberal Arts and Artion Baseball retaining their sports in the Baseball Poll, while Zion Chapel Softball also retained its spot in the Softball Poll.
In Class 2A Baseball, the reigning State Champion Arition Purple Cats remain in the top spot at No. 1, while Pike Liberal Arts retains its spot as the No. 2 team in the state. Trailing behind Ariton and Pike is Vincent, Collinsville, Wicksburg, GW Long, Hatton, Lindsay Lane, Fyffe and Mars Hill Bible.
Pike Lib has matchups with Zion Chapel on April 11, Rehobeth on April 15 and Carroll on April 16 remaining on the 2024 regular season schedule. Artion has an area series with No. 6-ranked GW Long April 11-12 and an April 15 matchup with Goshen remaining.
The Zion Chapel softball team, which has won seven straight contests, remains at No. 3 in the Class 2A Softball Poll behind Wicksburg and West End. Trailing by ZCHS is Winston County, Pleasant Valley, Sulligent, Sumiton Christian, Hatton, GW Long and Pisgah.
Zion Chapel has games with Pike Lib on April 11, Highland Home on April 16 and Geneva on April 25 remaining in the regular season.
