The Charles Henderson Trojans split a baseball series with the Carroll Eagles this past weekend, winning one game and losing another.

On Friday, Carroll won the first game 4-2. Parker Adams led CHHS at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Clay Johnson and Bradley Prestwood scored one run each. Clay Johnson pitched four innings and fanned seven batters, while giving up seven hits and three earned runs.

On Saturday, Charles Henderson and Carroll went into the fifth inning tied 4-4. In the bottom of the inning, Clay Johnson scored on an error to break the tie and then Josh Hooten drove Owen Pugh home with an RBI double to give the Trojans a 6-4 lead. Finally, Kellen Stewart drove Hooten home with an RBI single into left field. Carroll managed to score two more runs in the top of the sixth but couldn’t get back into scoring position as CHHS held on for the 7-6 win.

Cooper Johnson went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs and a double, while Hooten went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one run. Chase Vaznaian and Clay Johnson both scored two runs. Parker Adams pitched five and 2/3 innings with five strikeouts, while giving up 11 hits and five earned runs. Vaznaian also struck out one batter and gave up one hit and no runs in one and 1/3 innings on the mound.

On Friday April 12, the Pike County Bulldogs swept the Daleville Warhawks in two games.

In game one, Pike County won 4-3 after scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Michael Gabel, Jakori Green, Jakobi McKinney and Omari Barrow scored one run each. Britt Albrittion pitched five innings and struck out three batters along with giving up three hits and no earned runs.

Pike County followed that up with a 9-4 win. Gabel went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, three RBIs and two runs, while Keldon Singleton went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs, three stolen bases and a run. Ben Patterson went 2-for-4 with four runs. Gabel pitched four and 1/3 innings and struck out a pair of batters along with giving up three hits and no earned runs. Barrow struck out three and gave up no hits or runs in his one and 2/3 innings pitched.
