The best things in life are free.
So, the TroyFest Arts & Crafts Festival must be a best thing.
TroyFest 2024 is set for Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The arts festival will feature more than 90 artists from the local area and from outside areas.
Troy Fest is held annually in memory of Jean Lake, a local and highly acclaimed folk artist.
Her artwork is among the most collectable works. It may be viewed locally at the Johnson Center for the Arts in downtown Troy and the Pioneer Museum of Alabama on Highway 231 North.
Morgan Drinkard, publicity chair for TroyFest 2024, said the local arts and crafts festival is a juried art show in the categories of pottery, folk art, painting, photography, graphics, drawing, functional and crafts.
Not only does TroyFest feature outstanding artists and crafters, the entertainment stage will include SheBANG Dance Studio, the Dixieland Band, Center Stagers, Gabby J and Friends, Voltage Dance Academy, the Troy University Gospel Choir and the FBC Celebration Choir along with others.
TroyFest will offer a variety of festival foods along with the variety of restaurants on and off the square.
