Bible Reading Marathon begins Monday

The 2024 Bible Reading Marathon will begin at 6 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the Gazebo in downtown Troy and will conclude at noon on Thursday May 2, the National Day of Prayer.
The reading of God’s Word will begin with Genesis, 1:1: “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth” and will continue until noon on Thursday the National Day of Prayer.
Linda Adams, of the hosting Salem-Troy Baptist Association, said the Bible Reading Marathon is held each year with the knowledge that God’s Word will not return void.
God’s word will be read from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day.
“Readers are invited to read in 15-minute blocks of time or longer if they wish,” Adams said. “Churches, clubs, organizations, families and individuals are invited to read in blocks on time,
“Those who want to read God’s Word in the 2024 Bible Reading Marathon are asked to call 566-1538. If there is no answer leave a message or come by the tent at the Gazebo and sign up.
“Everyone is invited to read and/or come and listen,” Adams said.
